Wage & Hour and Consumer Class Actions, Personal Injury, Mass Torts and Employment Litigation
Mr. Surls is an attorney with an intense passion for worker's rights. After over ten years working as a minimum wage restaurant employee, Ethan has experienced first hand the struggles and challenges that workers face on a daily basis. The son of a labor attorney, Ethan was raised in the tradition of lawyers fighting for justice for those who would not otherwise have a voice. While attending law school at Loyola, Mr. Surls worked in conjunction with the Labor Commissioner, investigating retaliation claims and representing undocumented children in deportation cases with the nonprofit “Kids in Need of Defense”. Ethan also did work during his time in law school with the nonprofit “Wage Justice Center”, an organization that seeks to recover unpaid wages on behalf of employees. Since joining Setareh Law Group, Mr. Surls has focused his practice on litigating class action wage and hour disputes as well as individual wrongful termination cases.
